Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
The responsibilities of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs represent one of the key pillars upon which the Deanship of the College of Education for Women relies. This position serves as the central link responsible for overseeing conferences, seminars, academic workshops, and scientific activities within the college. In addition, the Assistant Dean supervises matters related to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, ensuring their discipline during their academic journey and after graduation.
The office of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs is also responsible for responding to incoming correspondence, monitoring student attendance and absences, ensuring compliance with the dress code, verifying the minutes of student disciplinary committees, and coordinating the preparation of examination schedules in collaboration with academic departments. Moreover, the office ensures the implementation of regulations and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the applicable directives of the Presidency of Tikrit University.

Duties and Authorities of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs:

Organizing final examination schedules in coordination with the college's academic departments.

Preparing weekly class schedules in collaboration with academic departments, based on classroom availability, to ensure the smooth progress of postgraduate studies.

Supervising the weekly lecture logbook to ensure full coverage of the required hours for each subject in accordance with applicable regulations.

Monitoring postgraduate student attendance and discipline in line with relevant rules and regulations.

Verifying postgraduate admission applications after receiving them from academic departments and standardizing them.

Reviewing transfer requests from postgraduate students at other universities and referring them to the appropriate academic departments for evaluation and correspondence with relevant entities.

Following up on postgraduate students’ study timelines and ensuring their full-time dedication to their studies in accordance with the regulations.

Participating in meetings of the college’s postgraduate studies committees when invited to discuss matters related to postgraduate programs and ensuring performance quality; preparing the thesis defense announcement one week before the scheduled date, arranging defense committee minutes, evaluating them, and submitting them to the College Council.

Supervising the preparation of the annual statistics related to postgraduate studies in the college.

Distributing and collecting examination booklets in accordance with established procedures.

Announcing examination results after they are approved by the postgraduate studies committees in the respective departments.

Providing academic departments with student grades using a standardized format for approval by the postgraduate committees.

Communicating with official authorities regarding all matters related to postgraduate student records, from enrollment to graduation.

Addressing official departments to obtain necessary approvals for attendees, after their names and affiliations are determined by the relevant academic department.

Signing annual salary increment and promotion forms for postgraduate studies staff as the highest administrative authority.
