Department of Arabic Language
The Department of Arabic Language was established alongside the founding of the college and the university in the academic year 1987–1988. Since its inception, it has worked diligently to promote linguistic culture among its students and within the wider community. The core mission of the department is to preserve the integrity and eloquence of the Arabic language and to teach students the proper foundations for engaging with this rich and expressive language—the language of eloquence and clarity, the language of the Arabs, and the language of the Holy Qur’an, whose association alone is a source of pride surpassing all other languages.
The department offers a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature. Graduation requires the successful completion of 168 accredited credit units over eight semesters. The curriculum encompasses various disciplines within Arabic language and literature, including linguistics, grammar, morphology, rhetoric, criticism, and literature across its different eras, in addition to other courses aimed at developing a well-rounded scholarly and pedagogical character.
